Focus on Risk Management - EPiC's investment strategy is primarily focused on Upstream and Midstream assets, processing facilities, and mature producing oil and gas assets with the majority of value in proven reserves and limited exposure from exploration and high risk drilling programs. In order to further manage risk, EPiC is concentrating on properties in the US onshore market, including Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, the Mid-continent area and the Rockies. These oil and natural gas producing properties usually have longer life reserves, lower annual depletion rates, reduced initial capital costs, more predictable operating expenses, less exposure to natural disasters, and minimal abandonment costs. Also, the nature of the geological formations normally provides for the spreading of reserves and production in multiple wells limiting problems due to mechanical failures in high volume wells..
