Expanse Announces Creation of Power Services Division

EXPANDS OFFERINGS TO MEET MARKET DEMANDS

HOUSTON, Texas (August 24, 2021) – Expanse, a leading provider of integrated electrical infrastructure, instrumentation and automation system solutions is entering a new phase of growth with the addition of its Expanse Power Services division. The division extends Expanse’s offerings to include turnkey EPC projects (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), along with project & program management for power systems up to 345kV.

The new division specifically focuses on a full suite of services related to transmission and distribution, including greenfield and brownfield substation expansions and upgrades. Additionally, Expanse Power Services’ Field Services Team provides reliability-driven services to clients through its NERC compliance inspections, testing and commissioning, and maintenance planning.

Five new team members joined Expanse’s team to aid in the division development. Jointly, the team brings over 100 years of experience managing industrial and utility power delivery projects of varying sizes and complexity, ranging from single substation buildouts to large capital improvement projects with bundled transmission, distribution, and substation work scopes.

Gordon Liles serves as General Manager of Expanse Power Services. In this role, Liles oversees all power service operations for the company, including all safety, quality, training, group P&L, division operations, staff performance, and development. Liles brings 30 years of experience and progressive responsibility in the electrical power marketplace to Expanse.

Ramon Porras is Expanse’s new Business Development Manager of Expanse Power Services. Porras brings over 40 years of hands-on experience and progressive responsibility in the electrical power marketplace to his new role. In addition, Porras has vast experience in field project and construction management, conceptual design of high and medium voltage distribution, and substation infrastructure.

Expanse also welcomes Shane Huffmon as the division’s Transmission & Distribution Manager. In this role, Huffmon utilizes his 35-plus years of experience to provide extensive hands-on planning, overall T&D operations management, field investigation, senior field project management, construction management, and cost estimating.

Mark Simmons joins as Expanse Power Services’ Testing & Commissioning Manager. Simmons serves to successfully, develop, organize, and implement safe, reliable electrical service as he has proven in his 30-plus years of experience. He analyzes test data to identify failures and to determine performance characteristics. He maintains all field and personnel operations, including scheduling and supervising the testing of LV, MV, HV, and EHV protection, controls, apparatus, and devices.

Amanda Aguero serves as Senior Administrative and Project Controls for the Expanse Power Services division. Aguero is responsible for supporting the division’s employees, supporting project managers, processing invoices, issuing purchase requisitions for her department, maintaining the active bid database, and distributing to designated team. In addition, she supports all department account services including, billing for her department along with gathering backup data for customer invoices. Aguero has strong leadership abilities, administrative skills, project controls, and brilliant customer service skills to contribute to the division’s efficiency and productivity.
